Glymphatic system: an emerging therapeutic approach for neurological disorders
نویسندگان
چکیده
The functions of the glymphatic system include clearance metabolic waste and modulation water transport in brain, it forms a brain-wide fluid network along with cerebrospinal (CSF) interstitial (ISF). pathway consists periarterial influx CSF, astrocyte-mediated interchange between ISF CSF supported by aquaporin-4 (AQP4) on endfeet astrocyte around periarterioles, perivenous efflux CSF. Finally, is absorbed arachnoid granules or flows into cervical lymphatic vessels. There growing evidence from animal experiments that dysfunction involved many neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury meningitis. In this review, we summarize latest progress its driving factors, well changes different diseases. We significantly highlight likely therapeutic approaches for diseases, importance AQP4 normal sleep architecture process.

CK2—An Emerging Target for Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders
Protein kinase CK2 has received a surge of attention in recent years due to the evidence of its overexpression in a variety of solid tumors and multiple myelomas as well as its participation in cell survival pathways. CK2 is also upregulated in the most prevalent and aggressive cancer of brain tissue, glioblastoma multiforme, and in preclinical models, pharmacological inhibition of the kinase h...

Levetiracetam (LEV) is a new antiepileptic drug that is clinically effective in generalized and partial epilepsy syndromes as sole or add-on medication. Nevertheless, its underlying mechanism of action is poorly understood. It has a unique preclinical profile; unlike other antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), it modulates seizure-activity in animal models of chronic epilepsy with no effect in most anima...

The inflammatory myopathies include three distinct entities: polymyositis (PM), dermatomyositis (DM), and inclusion body myositis (IBM). A T-cell-mediated cytotoxic process in PM and IBM and a complement-mediated microangiopathy in DM are the hallmarks of the underlying autoimmune processes. The most consistent therapeutic problem remains the distinction of PM from the difficult-to-treat mimics...

متن کاملAn Evolutionary Biology Approach to Understanding Neurological Disorders
Many common human neurological disorders, including epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, autism spectrum disorders, and schizophrenia show complex heritability and genetics. While studies of single-gene diseases typically provide a more straightforward opportunity to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of disease, complex diseases are more common and inherently more di...
